Ferroaxial order, characterized by rotational structural distortion, is a new class of ordered state. Visualizing ferroaxial domain states (clockwise and counterclockwise rotations) is challenging. This paper proposes circular intensity difference in second harmonic generation (CID-SHG) microscopy as a technique to investigate ferroaxial order and its domains. Using CID-SHG microscopy, the authors successfully visualize three-dimensional images of ferroaxial domain structures in NiTiO3, demonstrating CID-SHG's sensitivity to ferroaxial order and its potential for nonlinear optical manipulations.
