Abstract
Promoting pro-environmental behaviors is crucial for achieving carbon neutrality goals. This paper investigates the impact of peer influence on energy-saving behaviors among Chinese university students using a large-scale survey from Xiamen University and a linear-in-means model. The results demonstrate a positive peer effect, with the influence varying across different student subgroups. The study highlights the importance of leveraging peer effects to enhance the effectiveness of energy conservation campaigns.
