Abstract
This study explores the relationship between objective quality of life and the degree of municipal membership in a rural-urban continuum in the Czech Republic. Using a quality of life index based on indicators such as life expectancy, mortality, education levels, and environmental factors, and a fuzzy approach to define urban and rural spaces, the study finds that quality of life tends to cluster spatially. Geographically weighted correlation reveals a positive relationship between quality of life and urban space membership, with notable exceptions in economically and socially deprived regions. A typology reveals that intermediate spaces (suburbs) show the highest potential for high quality of life.
