The mere presence of a smartphone reduces basal attentional performance
J. Skowronek, A. Seifert, et al.
The smartphone has become indispensable, but could its mere presence erode our attention? This study tests whether a smartphone nearby reduces concentration and cognitive performance: participants aged 20–34 completed attention tests with and without a phone present, and results imply that mere smartphone presence lowers cognitive performance. Research conducted by Jeanette Skowronek, Andreas Seifert, and Sven Lindberg.
