Abstract
This cross-sectional study investigated the relationship between confidence and correctness in a multiple-choice assessment among second-year dental students (n=29). Students answered 20 endodontics questions followed by confidence ratings. Results showed high correctness (92.5%) and confidence (84.6%). Students with more misconceptions had lower performance. 'Moderate' questions had more incorrect answers and lower confidence than 'basic' questions. All questions were considered valuable, though some warrant improvement. The study highlights the value of combining multiple-choice questions with confidence questions in identifying misconceptions and improving assessment quality.
