Abstract
This paper uses an integrated assessment modelling framework with nine climate policy models to quantify the impacts of decarbonization pathways on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the European Union. Ambitious net-zero emissions pathways improve health and agricultural productivity, benefiting countries lagging in SDG achievement. However, negative impacts on poverty, hunger, and economic growth necessitate corrective policies. The study highlights co-benefits and trade-offs between greenhouse gas mitigation and the sustainable development agenda.
