The Impact of Internal Revenue Generation on Infrastructural Development. A study of Puntland State, Somalia

The purpose of this research was to look into the function of revenue generation in promoting infrastructure development in Puntland State, Somalia. The study focused on Puntland's revenue situation, infrastructural development, and economic growth from 2019 to 2022. Additionally, the research reviewed the experiences of Lagos State in Nigeria to assess the contribution of increased internally generated revenue to infrastructure development in the state. Lagos State had previously faced limited infrastructure development due to low domestic revenue. However, upon implementing advanced revenue generation strategies, the infrastructure sector experienced significant development. The study's results indicate that revenue generation significantly influences both infrastructural development and economic growth in Puntland. Consequently, it is advisable for the government to give top priority to and enhance its initiatives in revenue generation to bolster infrastructural development and the broader economic advancement of the state.
