Abstract
This study investigates the mediating role of lifestyle, socioeconomic, and mental health factors in the association between education and adiposity. A cross-sectional study of 2,154 Czech adults (25-64 years) found a negative direct effect of education on adiposity in both sexes. For men, sedentary behavior significantly mediated this effect. In women, dietary risk, alcohol intake, sedentary behavior, income, and mental health were significant mediators. The study highlights the importance of sedentary behavior and other factors in understanding educational disparities in adiposity, with variations between men and women.
