Abstract
This global experiment (N=51,224 across 60 countries) examines the impact of 11 climate interventions on beliefs, policy support, and actions across the political spectrum. While liberals showed greater belief in and support for climate policies than conservatives, there was no significant difference in tree-planting participation. Conservatives' actions, however, were not fully aligned with their beliefs. Three interventions (emphasizing collective action, writing letters to future/past selves) increased beliefs and support across ideologies, while one (emphasizing scientific consensus) boosted action among liberals. Implications for targeted interventions are discussed.
