The default mode network and rumination in individuals at risk for depression
T. Chou, T. Deckersbach, et al.
The default mode network, active during rest and self-focused thought, may underlie a vulnerability to ruminate: females high in neuroticism but without mood disorders showed greater medial prefrontal cortex and inferior parietal lobule activation after criticism (but not praise), with IPL activation linked to rumination.
