Current ecosystem models often treat stressors independently, ignoring potential interactions. This study uses the Ocean System Interactions, Risks, Instabilities, and Synergies (OSIRIS) model to examine stressor interactions in the Chukchi Sea. Results show climate-related stressors have a larger impact than acute stressors like shipping. Neglecting interactions significantly underestimates the risk of population crashes. The model highlights the need to account for stressor interactions in responsible management.
