Abstract
This study examines the association between romantic relationship quality, number of children, and gender on meaning in life. A survey of 473 US adults revealed positive associations between relationship quality and number of children with meaning in life. However, relationship quality's impact on meaning was stronger for men than women, and for men, this association weakened with increasing numbers of children. The findings highlight the complex interplay of social relationships and meaning in life, with implications for family wellbeing policies.
