Abstract
This paper demonstrates a self-evolving photonic crystal concept, dynamically altering its photonic band structure via carrier-photon interactions using continuous uniform current injection. Experiments show short-pulse generation (80 W peak power, <30 ps pulse width) in a GaAs-based photonic crystal. This self-evolving carrier-photon dynamic expands nanophotonic material potential.
