This study investigates the impact of geographically correlated outages due to floods on public EV charging networks in Greater London. While the researchers find minimal effect on the ability of battery EVs to manage typical urban driving, they observe disproportionate stress on chargers near and surprisingly far from flooded areas. Increased charger utilization (over 50%) and distances to the nearest charger (260% increase) were observed in areas over 10 km away from flood zones. The impact is most severe in already stressed parts of the network. Four strategies for enhancing flood resilience in public EV charging networks are proposed and evaluated.
