This paper explores changes in public spatial perception of urban streets from traditional to digital contexts. Comparing perceptions in both contexts through theory review and empirical coding analysis of the Xiaolouxiang historic district, the study finds similar frameworks focusing on objects, buildings/spaces, and activities. However, the digital context shows shifts: from three-dimensional experience to two-dimensional visual aesthetics; from spatial totality to detailed focus; and from spatial use to cultural emphasis. The research suggests future urban street design should prioritize visual aesthetics, detail, and cultural expression.
