Abstract

This paper investigates the Efimov state near its critical point using coherent few-body spectroscopy in ⁷Li atoms. Contrary to expectations, the Efimov trimer doesn't immediately dissociate at the atom-dimer threshold but survives as a metastable state within the continuum. This behavior is attributed to a repulsive interaction in the atom-dimer channel reshaping three-body interactions, particularly relevant for systems with narrow Feshbach resonances. The findings shed light on ⁷Li Efimov states and related puzzling phenomena.
