Abstract
Nail psoriasis significantly impacts patients' daily lives, highlighting the need for reliable evaluation tools to guide therapeutic interventions. The Nail Psoriasis Severity Index (NAPSI) is a validated scoring system, but its practical application is hampered by interobserver variability. This study presents a deep learning-based tool, the "NAPSI calculator," designed to address this limitation. The tool comprises two stages: nail detection and NAPSI scoring. Evaluation on a test set demonstrated the "NAPSI calculator's" superior accuracy compared to both non-board-certified residents and board-certified dermatologists without nail expertise, showcasing its potential to improve clinical practice for nail psoriasis management.
