This study validates a nuclease-activatable fluorescent probe, P2&3TT, for rapid and culture-independent detection of Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) in blood cultures. The probe leverages the specific nuclease activity of S. aureus to produce a detectable fluorescence signal. Results show that P2&3TT successfully differentiates S. aureus-positive blood cultures from those positive for other pathogens or negative cultures, suggesting its potential for clinical implementation in diagnosing staphylococcal bacteremia.
