Abstract

This article presents the first global baseline of public perceptions of climate intervention technologies (CITs), using nationally representative surveys (N=30,284) across 30 countries. It finds that Global South publics are significantly more favorable towards CITs, driven by factors like younger age, greater climate urgency, and vulnerability. However, they also express more concern about undermining mitigation efforts and unequal risk distribution.
