Abstract

This study investigated the predictive capacity of plasma biomarkers for Alzheimer's disease (AD) in Chinese populations. Plasma amyloid-β (Aβ)42, phosphorylated tau (p-tau)181, and neurofilament light chain (NfL) were analyzed in two cohorts: a longitudinal cohort with 8-10 years of follow-up and a replication cohort of familial AD mutation carriers. Results showed significant correlations between plasma biomarkers and their cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) counterparts. Combining plasma Aβ42, p-tau181, and NfL successfully discriminated preclinical AD from controls, suggesting potential for early AD prediction in Chinese populations.
