Abstract
Computational pathology (CPath) algorithms offer promising advancements in oncological diagnostics, but their clinical adoption faces challenges. This international study explores pathologists' perspectives on CPath, focusing on barriers and facilitators. An e-survey and semi-structured interviews were conducted. The survey revealed varied opinions on CPath's attitude, understandability, and validation. Interviews highlighted barriers related to evidence quality and facilitators linked to CPath's strengths. Lack of consensus emerged on validation methods, CPath's workflow role, and its integration into pathology education. The study emphasizes the diversity of influencing factors and the need for quantitative studies to prioritize key factors for adoption and initiate robust validation studies among a more homogenous group of pathologists.
