This study models the impact of integrating offshore wind and wave energy into a zero-emissions electricity grid for the Western Interconnection by 2050. It identifies cost targets for these technologies to become cost-effective, finds a 17% reduction in total installed capacity with full deployment, and analyzes changes in curtailment, generation, and transmission.
