Musical coordination in a large group without plans nor leaders
L. Goupil, P. Saint-germier, et al.
This research by Louise Goupil, Pierre Saint-Germier, Gaëlle Rouvier, Diemo Schwarz, and Clément Canonne challenges the notion that large groups require leaders or strict plans to achieve complex coordination. Through the study of a 16-musician collective improvisation ensemble, significant levels of coordination were observed, suggesting powerful decentralized capabilities in group dynamics.
