Abstract

Micro-and nanoplastics (MNPs) are particles smaller than a millimeter, infiltrating terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems. MNPs pollution causes severe adverse effects on human health and the environment. This review examines the impact of MNPs in agroecosystems globally, including sources, occurrence, distribution, transport, and fate. It also suggests remediation and management approaches, advocating for bio-based plastics, reformed agricultural practices, and awareness campaigns.
