Abstract

This study investigated whether feature-specific prioritization in working memory (WM) modulates memory-driven capture. Two experiments used a retro-cue to manipulate the relevance of color and orientation features of a memorized triangle. Experiment 1 showed color capture only when relevant, while orientation showed no capture. Experiment 2, using spatially cued retro-cues, revealed color capture and orientation capture when relevant, demonstrating reciprocal interaction between internal prioritization and external attention at the feature level.
