Measuring museum sustainability in China: a DSR model-driven approach to empower sustainable development goals (SDGs)

This article establishes an evaluation framework and approach for museum sustainability in China, initially based on the DSR model (Deeds, Status, Response) integrated with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). A fuzzy QFD model analyzes the Zhejiang Natural History Museum's (ZNHM) sustainable development strategies using survey and interview data. The study identifies opportunities for ZNHM to improve sustainable practices, including updating its collection system, enhancing exhibition and educational project professionalism, and securing funding policies. ZNHM's efforts prioritize social awareness and internal reforms related to social value, governance, and professional capabilities. International cooperation is suggested as the next step.
