Abstract
This study investigates the impact of leader prohibitive voice behavior on follower prohibitive voice behavior, considering leader identification and follower political skill. Using data from 317 leader-follower dyads in Chinese companies, the study found that leader prohibitive voice behavior positively influences follower prohibitive voice behavior, mediated by leader identification. However, follower political skill negatively moderated this mediated relationship, with the effect being stronger for followers with lower political skill. The study highlights the role of leaders as role models and the importance of considering follower characteristics when promoting prohibitive voice.
