This article examines the impact of internet use on individual tolerance in China, using national social survey data from 2015 to 2021. The findings reveal a significant positive effect of internet use on both social and moral tolerance, even after accounting for endogenous issues. Moderating factors include university education, the unit system, and Hukou registration, while opportunity and outcome fairness exhibit suppressive, not mediating, effects. The study highlights the role of digital technology in socioeconomic development and suggests that government policies should consider the evolving social attitudes.
