Abstract
This study investigated the antibacterial effect of *Arnebia euchroma* (Royle) Johnst. root (AR) extract on *Streptococcus mutans* (*S. mutans*) UA159 and its anti-caries effect on rats. AR extract inhibited *S. mutans* growth and biofilm formation, and reduced bacterial adhesion to hydroxyapatite. In a rat caries model, AR extract significantly reduced caries incidence and severity, demonstrating excellent biosafety. These findings suggest AR extract's potential for dental caries prevention and treatment.
