This phenomenological study explored the school experiences of 14 autistic women, addressing the historical absence of autistic women's voices in research. Semi-structured interviews, informed by a pilot study, revealed six key themes: (1) the importance of accurate diagnosis; (2) the significance of details in their experiences; (3) the intertwined nature of sensory and emotional experiences; (4) feelings of invisibility and not belonging; (5) challenges in relationships and friendships; and (6) layers of vulnerability, including high rates of bullying and abuse. The study offers recommendations for educators, administrators, counselors, and school social workers.
