Abstract
This study investigates the electrocatalytic reduction of CO2 to CO using PdCu alloys. PdCu-2, with a Pd:Cu ratio of 60:40, exhibited superior catalytic activity and selectivity, achieving a maximum Faradaic efficiency (FE) of 85% for CO at -0.9 V (vs. RHE) and a current density of -7.76 mA cm⁻². The enhanced performance is attributed to the synergistic effect between Pd and Cu, including optimized adsorption energies of intermediates and faster electron transfer, as revealed by XPS and TPV analysis. The catalyst demonstrates good stability over 17 h of continuous operation.
