Abstract

Electron sources are critical for various applications. This study reports efficient, regenerative, and low-cost electron sources using solution-processed halide perovskite thin films excited by light. A quantum efficiency of up to 2.2% and a lifetime exceeding 25 hours were measured. Electron emission can be regenerated by Cs deposition, and emission is tunable across the visible and ultraviolet spectrum, operating at vacuum pressures two orders higher than state-of-the-art sources.
