Despite advancements in flood forecasting, operational flood early warning systems (FEWS) need near-real-time inundation and impact forecasts with uncertainties. This study demonstrates a high-resolution, impact-based flood hindcast of the 2021 European Summer Flood, offering a 17-hour lead time for informed action by utilizing high-resolution lead-time maps and potential impacts on buildings and infrastructure. The system integrates numerical weather prediction (NWP), hydrological, and hydrodynamic modeling, along with impact forecasting, to provide crucial information for risk-based decision-making.
