This paper synthesizes existing evidence on the potential farm-level economic impacts of a glyphosate ban in European agriculture. A literature review of 19 studies (published until 2022) reveals substantial heterogeneity in impacts, ranging from €3/hectare in silage maize to €553/hectare in grapevine production. While absolute losses are largest for high-value perennial crops, relative losses (as a percentage of profit margins) are similar across crop types. Significant knowledge gaps remain regarding economic implications for most countries and farming systems, hindering a comprehensive European-level assessment.
