Abstract

This study quantified the transboundary interactions of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) between 768 pairs of SDG indicators through channels like trade, river flow, ocean currents, and air flow. High-income countries, despite comprising a small percentage of the global population, contributed significantly to total SDG interactions. Transboundary synergies via trade were stronger with non-neighboring partners, while nature-caused flows showed stronger synergies among neighboring countries. Collaboration and leveraging transboundary synergies are crucial for global SDG achievement.
