Abstract
This study aims to discover fundamental patterns in social learning (SL) in natural resources management by identifying SL archetypes and establishing correlations between the SL process and overall geopolitical conditions. Using a systematic literature review of 137 case studies, content analysis, and correlations, results show two main archetypes: endogenous and exogenous. Endogenous SL, prevalent in the Global South, is better potentialized as a catalyst for deliberative processes for sustainable natural resource management.
