Abstract
This study investigates Taiwanese sports university students' perspectives on the importance of general education competencies and their satisfaction with the program's effectiveness in fostering these competencies. Using Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA), the study reveals a significant gap between students' high valuation of the competencies and their perceived low performance of the program. Students' priorities varied across different colleges within the university, reflecting diverse needs and experiences. The study recommends integrating Competency-Based Education (CBE) principles to create more flexible and student-centered learning. It emphasizes the need for increased awareness among both teachers and students regarding the importance and application of these competencies.
