This paper investigates how artificial intelligence (AI) technologies and robotics impact human-animal relations, focusing on automation and replacement processes. Automation, primarily in animal agriculture, leads to alienation between humans and animals. Replacement processes, using AI-driven animals in zoos and as companions, present complex ethical considerations. The authors discuss the moral significance of these changes and offer initial thoughts on ethically responsible AI use in relation to animals.
