Animals navigate dense environments efficiently, avoiding collisions and selecting safe passages. This paper presents a bio-inspired robot controlled by a neuromorphic network that mimics insect vision, enabling safe and efficient travel in dense terrains by steering toward regions of low apparent motion. The results demonstrate a single mechanism for safe travel and offer a working hypothesis for insect navigation, showcasing the potential of bio-inspired design in novel hardware systems.
