Abstract
This study investigates the relationship between family communication patterns, self-efficacy, and adolescent online prosocial behavior using a moderated mediation model. A questionnaire survey of 1183 Chinese adolescents revealed that conversation orientation positively influences self-efficacy and online prosocial behavior, while conformity orientation has the opposite effect. Self-efficacy mediates the relationship between conversation and conformity orientations and online prosocial behavior. Cognitive reappraisal enhances the positive effects of conversation orientation and mitigates the negative effects of conformity orientation, while expressive suppression shows the inverse effect. The study provides valuable insights for family education and online platform design.
