This study investigates the spatiotemporal evolution of Taobao towns in China using geospatial methods and identifies key contributing factors using GeoDetector. Results show that Taobao town coverage expands yearly, exhibiting a "T-shaped and three-center" spatial pattern with a decreasing gradient from southeast to northwest. Central areas are developing rapidly, and development is driven by regional economic base, social environment, market atmosphere, transportation, and infrastructure.
