Abstract
This qualitative exploratory study investigated the knowledge, perceptions, and implementation of activity-based therapy (ABT) among physical and occupational therapists in Canadian non-SCI-specialized centers. Semi-structured interviews with seven therapists revealed limited knowledge of ABT, despite some unconscious incorporation of its principles. Challenges included knowledge gaps regarding SCI and ABT, resource limitations, and time constraints. Therapists expressed a strong desire for accessible, tailored ABT education. The study highlights the need for targeted educational programs to improve ABT implementation in these settings.
