Abstract
This research utilizes asteroseismic data from the Kepler satellite to investigate the inner core structure of red-giant clump stars. The study reveals evidence of large core structural discontinuities in approximately 6.7% of the sample, suggesting a radiative thermal stratification in the mixing region beyond the convective core boundary. These stars are otherwise similar to those without discontinuities, implying the discontinuity formation is an intermittent phenomenon.
