Abstract
This study investigates the response of a mature temperate forest to elevated CO₂ using a seven-year free-air CO₂ enrichment (FACE) experiment. Results show increased woody biomass production in 180-year-old *Quercus robur* trees under elevated CO₂, supporting the role of mature forests in climate change mitigation.
