Abstract
This study introduces a novel method for treating reactive dye wastewater using cobalt-loaded MXene catalysts and peroxymonosulfate (PMS). The Co@MXene catalyst effectively activated PMS, leading to 97.1% degradation of C.I. Reactive Red 195 within 36 minutes under optimized conditions. The addition of NaCl further enhanced the degradation rate. The catalyst demonstrated high reusability, maintaining 93.5% degradation efficiency after ten cycles. The treated wastewater was successfully reused for dyeing cotton fabrics, highlighting the potential for sustainable textile dyeing practices.
