Abstract
This systematic review and GRADE evidence synthesis investigated the effectiveness of vitamin D supplementation (VDS) in controlling cardiometabolic parameters among adults with metabolic syndrome (MetS). Seven randomized controlled trials (RCTs) were included, revealing high heterogeneity. While all studies showed increased serum 25(OH)D levels in intervention groups, only two demonstrated significant decreases in triglyceride levels and waist circumference. However, the certainty of evidence was very low for triglycerides and low for waist circumference, with moderate certainty for fasting glucose, blood pressure, and HDL-c. The evidence does not support VDS for reducing triglyceride levels and waist circumference in adults with MetS.
