Abstract
This study examines the ecolinguistic dynamics of five English loanwords for "cement" in Chinese, analyzing their lexical niche breadth and overlap to understand their evolution. The research reveals the influence of social environments on loanword emergence, the correlation between loanword vitality and niche breadth, and the impact of external and internal environments on loanword endangerment. A lexical ecocontinuum is presented, classifying the loanwords based on their vitality.
