Abstract
This study presents the development of a nanoscale zero-valent iron (NZVI) incorporated porous PAN fiber (Fe-PAN) film for efficient organic matter degradation. The Fe-PAN film, fabricated via a one-step cryogenic auxiliary electrospinning method, exhibits high catalytic activity (>95% conversion in 4 min) and excellent stability and reusability due to the synergistic interaction between PAN and NZVI. Optimization using Box-Behnken design determined optimal conditions (pH 2.8, 56 °C, 4.2 mmol/L oxidant). Degradation follows second-order kinetics, driven by ·OH and O2 radicals. The Fe-PAN film shows promise for industrial applications.
