Development of carbon finance in China based on the hybrid MCDM

Abstract

This paper proposes a hybrid MCDM method combining TOPSIS and VIKOR to rank Chinese carbon finance pilot cities and provinces. The study finds Guangdong and Beijing as top investment locations, highlighting the roles of technological innovation, financial development, and active ETS markets in driving carbon finance. The MCDM methodology offers new insights into environmental and economic development assessment.
