This study analyzes the growth trends in area, production, and yield of coconut in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka from 2000-2001 to 2017-2018. Growth equations are used to estimate growth rates and instabilities, while decomposition analysis identifies the roles of area, price, yield, and crop mix effects on production. Karnataka showed high growth and productivity but significant fluctuations. Price and yield effects are crucial for production changes. Recommendations include improving access to technology, inputs, marketing, and credit for coconut growers.
